Integrative Counsellor

I know from personal experience that emotions can sometimes be hard to deal with.

I offer my clients a safe, non-judgmental space to explore what is going on for them, and teach them how to cope with their feelings and thoughts in a safe and healthy way. I believe that everyone’s issues are valid, and we are all entitled to some understanding and support when going through difficult times. My job is to help you get some clarity, focus and respite from the troubling situations you may be experiencing.

In CBT we believe that thoughts, emotions and behaviours are closely interconnected. One situation will bring up different feelings for different people, who will then behave and think differently.

In short, everyone is different.

I have an integrated Diploma in CBT counselling, which means I am trained to use CBT techniques as well as methods from other therapeutic modalities (such as psychodynamic, person-centred, gestalt, etc). This enables me to use many different tools and techniques to tailor the sessions to you and address your own particular needs.

With over 2 years' experience as a volunteer counsellor for a Scottish charity specialised in helping survivors of child abuse, I have worked with people presenting a broad range of issues and conditions, including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

I also specialise in supporting new and expecting parents through the very emotional period before and after the birth of a child, and I have extensive experience working with parents experiencing any difficulties brought up by parenting.

You are the expert in yourself. I am here to get you to ask yourself the right questions and challenge your negative thoughts and emotions. As a team, we will work together to figure out what your needs are and how to proceed to get you where, or who, you want to be.
